Nate Lampton (aka "quicksketch") is a developer who loves to work with web technologies. Nate has made numerous contributions to the Open Source project Drupal, including writing the original AJAX framework (Drupal 6), the File and Image modules (Drupal 7), and the dialog system (Drupal 8). He also maintains a number of contributed modules, including the popular Webform module.
In 2013, Nate forked the Drupal project to create Backdrop CMS, which provides a largely backwards-compatible alternative to Drupal 8. Backdrop aims to become more accessible and more affordable though simplification and backwards-compatibility.
Nate works for the web services company Lullabot, where he has worked with a number of high-profile clients, including The Recording Academy, Tesla Motors, Sony BMG, and Harvard. In 2008, Nate co-authored the O'Reilly book Using Drupal.
Nate also runs a business for collecting and sharing surveys at webform.com, where the data and software both are always accessible and exportable, allowing for complete flexibility and avoiding vendor lock-in.
